Constant Change

The Hardest Part Isn’t Learning - It’s Staying Ahead.

You’ve already built your foundation. But the field is evolving fast—AI, Python, cloud-native stacks, spatial data lakes. And keeping up alone? That’s a losing game.

The Lab exists because we felt that too. And we weren’t alone.

  • There’s so much changing—I'm not sure what’s actually worth paying attention to.
  • Everyone’s talking about cloud and AI, but no one’s showing how it connects to our real work.
  • Most of what’s online is either too basic or too scattered to be useful.
  • I don’t want to waste time chasing trends—but I also don’t want to fall behind.
The Truth?

This isn’t another Slack group. It’s your backstage pass to the future of GIS.

You need a community of like minded people - focused on not just keeping up, but leading the way.

A Smarter Way to Learn

A Curated, Private Community for Professionals Who Don’t Settle.

This isn’t a course. It’s not a forum. And it’s definitely not a beginner hangout.

Spatial Lab is an invite-only space for professionals who want to stay at the leading edge—without the burnout.

You’ve outgrown beginner content. This is your level.

About Me

Why I built the Lab (and what you get from me)

I’m Matt Forrest. I’ve spent the last decade at the intersection of geospatial technology, data engineering, and education—working with organizations large and small to modernize how we work with spatial data.

I created the Spatial Lab because I wanted the space I couldn’t find anywhere else:

A high-signal, low-noise environment where smart professionals can stay current, push boundaries, and connect without the chaos of LinkedIn threads or the shallowness of Slack chats.

But this isn’t a side project. I’m deeply invested in this community.

Here is what you get from me in the Lab 👉🏽

How it works

You've earned your place. Now let's build what's next.

There’s a moment in every geospatial professional’s journey when the tutorials stop helping and the webinars start repeating themselves. You’re no longer looking for basic skills - you’re looking for signal, relevance, and a peer group that pushes you forward.

Spatial Lab was built for professionals who are still growing and who know that staying sharp requires more than checking a certification box or following the crowd.

You’ll feel at home here if you’re 👉🏽
